Not sure what to say?

When I remember my childhood, Memories of Jack are always in them. It was a happy time when he would come for a visit. I remember he would always head for the kitchen and some Crystal Spring water! He quite often saved my day with my parents over grades or an activity I wanted to participate in and it was being questioned. Miss those times but thankful Jack was part of our lives! I tell family to make memories .......priceless!!

He was a giant among pastors and faculty. I used to like to borrow books from him after class. I offer condolences to Paul and the family.

An outstanding professor who was also a friend when I was a student. The man was a champion among my professors with some eccentricities . His son, John, and I were in the same class at RC. I was the token Baptist in his Old Testament class. RIP Tex

Doris, Ivan, Paul, Thank you for your husband/father Guy A. (TEX) Ritter, champion of God, Jesus, and Rolls Royce. Thanks to him, my mentor in the classic car hobby for fifty years, I have most fond memories. He will be always missed and remembered at our Chesapeake Region and RROC Club fixtures. I would love to help keep his vehicles on the road in his memory. Please phone me if I can be of any assistance. 301 990 8214 in Derwood, MD.

Tex (we also called him Jack) was my grandfather's (George Ritter) cousin. We would visit Jack and Doris whenever we were down that way (I live in MD.) My mother (Barbara Ritter Burger) would visit them often. I was doing some research on Roanoke College and came across the obituary. I am so sad to hear of his death. I loved talking with him, he was always to entertaining. He always talked to me about Bluefield and our family roots. My daughter Kate had the pleasure of seeing both Jack...

I was so sorry to learn of your father passing away. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Please accept our sincere sympathy at the passing of your husband and father. We had the joy of meeting you both a few years back, as you unselfishly spent 2-3 days escorting us around the Burke's Garden area and told us of our joint family heritage. What a joy it was to put stories and fact together. We pray God will hold you in the palm of His hand during these difficult days.

I am sorry to hear about your loss, Ivan. God bless you and your family.

Pastor Ritter made a huge impression on us as kids attending Glade Creek Lutheran Church during his tenure there. He could keep our attention like no other preacher before or since. I can still remember how sad we were when he decided to leave our church, but we understood that he could reach more people by doing so. My cousin went to Roanoke college and considered entering the ministry because of the classes he had with Rev. Ritter. And he wasn't really the type to become a minister. We...
