Rev. Harold's Obituary

Rev. Harold W. Harmon, Sr., 74, of Nitro went Home to be with the Lord at his residence on Thursday, February 15, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Harold was a retired meat cutter from Kroger’s in St. Albans with 31 years of service. He was an ordained minister, who preached the gospel at various churches.  His passions were his family, particularly his grandbabies, fishing, gospel music and preaching God’s word.  Harold was a member of the West Virginia Home Mission in Nitro.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ed Harmon and Lena Harmon Jones, four sisters and one brother.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years Pauline Bird Harmon, daughters; Sherri Patton and husband Gary of Cross Lanes, Elizabeth Woodson of St. Albans, son; H. Wayne Harmon, Jr. of Hurricane, grandchildren; Amber Patton, Ashley Burns and husband AJ, Adrea Harmon and fiancé Andrea Harness, Harley Woodson, Anessa Harmon, Hannah Harmon, two great-grand-daughters and four great-grand-sons.

A celebration of Harold’s life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the West Virginia Home Mission, 1109 Benamati Ave, Nitro with Pastor Joe Scarberry officiating.  Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.  The family will receive friends from Noon to 1:00 pm on Saturday at the church.
