Identity—tells his children who they are
Shepherd—He leads his family
Provider—Sustains them emotionally
Protector—gives them security

Mr. Green was a man who took care of his family and was noticed by us young men back in the day. From that example, those of us by faith applied it to our lives with our families knowing that Love will abound and everything will be ok. Let the Green family be comforted knowing Mr. Green as a husband and as a father has been a catalyst in changing men's lives just by being who he was, a man of GOD.

Rev. Joseph Greene, Jr. was born on February 25, 1942, in Opelousas, Louisiana, to Joseph Greene, Sr., and Loicy Green. He accepted Christ at the age of 21 under the leadership of Bishop Roy L. Winbush at Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, where he was baptized and called to preach. He married Barbara Jean Joubert on July 31, 1966, and their first child, Shannon LaTrice, was born on December 16, 1969. In 1971, Joseph moved his family to Beaumont, where he lived until his passing. They had two more children: Tameka Ann, born April 15, 1975, and Felicia Marie, born February 25, 1978. Joseph served as assistant pastor at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church before leading as senior pastor at Little Flock Baptist Church in Hillister, Texas, for 10 years. After retiring, he joined the Saints Temple Church of God in Christ, where he served under the leadership of Superintendent James Lowe for 25 years until his death.
On June 24, 2025, the Lord healed him as he passed away. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph, Sr. and Loicy, as well as his sisters, Sarah Pickney, Rose Robertson, Velma Swearington, Elma Clark, and his brother, Robert Greene.
He leaves behind his wife, Barbara; daughters, Shannon George (Gregory, Sr.), Tameka Phillips (Denny), and Felicia Greene. Nine grandchildren carry on his legacy: six granddaughters—Jasmine, Star, and Alexis Phillips, and Deja, Tiffany, and Alisha Lowe—and three grandsons—Gregory II, Joseph, and John George. He also has five great-grandchildren: Journey, Charly, Ryleigh, Rayleigh, and Landon. Additionally, he will be fondly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
