Rev. Larry Eugene Perritte

Reverend Larry Eugene Perritte, 82, husband of Mrs. Mary Sue Brummett Perritte of Fork, woke up in the arms of Jesus back on the afternoon of September 12, 2021, after an extended illness, at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Rev. Larry was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on November 2, 1938, a son to the late Leo Robert Perritte, Sr., and the late Geneva Evans Perritte, when Larry was eight years old, his family moved to Fork, South Carolina. Rev. Perritte was a graduate of Lake View High School, and at age eighteen left for college, where he attended Presbyterian Junior College. He also attended and graduated from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. and Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio. Rev. Perritte was a veteran having served in the United States Army, spending most of his enlisted time in Germany. While in Germany, Rev. Perritte was the first Civilian Chaplain of Landstul Hospital. After serving in the Army, Larry was a corporate accountant and then became a businessman until he entered the ministry. Rev. Larry was ordained in 1979 in the Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee. From there he served as Director of the Christian Servicemen's Center in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and as a Pastor in California, Florida, Maryland, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Included during all this, Rev. Perritte had also served as Academic Dean at Northwest Bible College in Minot, North Dakota, and had served as a parttime Prison Chaplain. In 2019 Rev. Larry returned to his roots in the Fork Community of South Carolina and settled in with his family.

Surviving Rev. Larry in addition to his loving wife of the home, Mary Sue Brummett Perritte are his son, Michael E. Perrite and his wife Karen, of Marietta, Georgia; his four grandchildren: Brandon (Reagan) Perritte of Tacoma, Washington, Elim Perritte of Kennesaw, Georgia, Sophie Perritte of Cochran, Georgia, and Emma Perritte of Marietta, Georgia; his two great grandchildren: Truly Perritte and Shepherd Perritte; his three brothers: Bobby Perritte and his wife Sandra of Fork, Frankie Perritte and his wife Tara of Fork, and L.R. Perritte, Jr. also of Fork; along with several nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Rev. Perritte was preceded in death by a sister, Annette Perritte Robertson.

A Celebration of Life for Rev. Perritte will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 12, 2022, inside the Fork Presbyterian Church, with Military Honors, in Fork, South Carolina.
