Rev. Timothy Otis Langston, Jr.

 

Pittsville…….Rev. Timothy Otis Langston, Jr., of 7057 Toshes Road Pittsville, died Friday, February 23, 2018 at his residence.

Born July 9, 1930 in Eure, NC he was the son of the late Timothy Otis Langston, Sr and Swanee Rebecca Slade Langston. He was predeceased by two sons, Timothy O. Langston, III and Duane Clark Langston; one daughter, Sue Ley; one brother, Bill Langston; and two sisters, Jean Liverman and Rebecca Tinkham. Rev. Langston was a member at Anderson Memorial United Methodist Church and was a former Methodist Minister. He was an Air Force Veteran where he served in the Korean War and later served as a Chaplain in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Rev. Langston enjoyed cutting wood, quail hunting and his bird dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Berger Camden-Langston of the residence; one son, Thomas Langston and wife, Deborah of Nolanville, TX; one daughter, Rebecca L. Stone of Elizabeth City, NC; one brother, John Langston and wife, Aline of Norfolk; step-children, Sterling Camden IV, Roanna C. Cann and husband, Jerry and Christa C. Heron and husband, Dale; and a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Anderson Memorial United Methodist Church by Rev. Sharon Forbes.  The family will receive friends at the residence.

The family thanks his special care givers, Denise, Jennifer, Sabreina, Tonya and the many others that helped during the last four years.
