Rhondawas a sweet lady I always enjoyed talking and joking with her whenever I saw her at the gas station or the store she loved her lottery tickets she is going to be missed

Rhonda's Obituary

Rhonda Kay McClain, 84, of Amma, died Saturday, February 14, 2026, at CAMC – General Hospital, Charleston.

She was born April 2, 1941, at Charleston, the daughter of the late Roy Stratton and Georgia Faye Reynolds Carper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Pauley; second husband, Alan McClain; children, Kenny Pauley, Sharon Pauley and Raymond Pauley; sisters, Nancy Likaits and Donna Jean Conley; brothers, Roy Kent Carper, Roger Carper and Ronald (Jake) Carper.

Rhonda was a former hostess at Fifth Quarter Restaurant and Marriott Hotel both in Charleston. Also, she was a self-employed baker and caterer.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Josh White; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; cousin, whom she considered a sister, Carol Ann Fisher; several nieces and nephews.

Her pastimes included playing with her grandchildren, the lottery, fishing and crafting. She was a wonderful cook and gardener.

Rhonda was a special person to all that were blessed to have known her.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026, at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Darius Walker officiating. Burial will be in Clover Cemetery, Clover.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
