I’m so sorry for your loss. Tehada was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed. 1900 Corwith shift worked side by side with him and every time I talked or crossed his path, he ALWAYS had the biggest SMILE.

My condolences to the family..To Me My Boy Tejeda ,he was more than a coworker, he was a friend, our railroad brother.Since I met him when he trained me when i started at BNSF on 0300 he had that personality that you never forget ,and every time I had a chance to get him started I would say that phrase (ese Tejeda ) and he would response right away (que onda guey)..’ and that would get him started and light up the atmosphere around us and sometimes supervisor had to stop the chatter to...

Tejeda was a funny guy, we would tease each other every time we saw each other and laugh. I would see him at work and say Puro Tejeda! And he would say ese Bobby!! I'll miss that and him. Sorry to hear about his passing, God gained an angel God bless the whole family and my condolences

Ricardo Javier Tejeda, age 56, of Hobart passed away unexpectedly on Thursday June19, 2025. Ricardo was born December 17, 1968, in East Chicago, Indiana to Alfonso and Maria (Quiroga) Tejeda. Ricardo was an intermodal equipment operator for the BNSF Railroad. Ricardo loved spending time with his family, fine cigars, going for rides with his dogs in his Tahoe, grilling in his yard, and watching sports.
Ricardo is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Angela Tejeda; four children, Jessica (Sal Angulo) Tejeda of Merrillville, Salina (Jovany)Anguiano of Valparaiso, Erica (Julius Jimenez) Tejeda of Hammond, and Joshua (Payton Michael) Tejeda of Hobart; five granddaughters, Nayeli, Xenia, Layla, Araceli, and Elena; his mother, Maria Tejeda; three siblings, Irma (Ed) Webster, Alfonso Tejeda, Jr., and Gerardo (Beth) Tejeda; his sister-in-law, Mary Tejeda; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Alfonso Tejeda; brother Ruben Tejeda; his beloved in-laws, Eluterio and Jovita Herrera; and his cousin, Henry Salinas.
Visitation for Ricardo will be held at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana on Friday June 27, 2025, from 2-8 pm and from 9 -10 am Saturday June 28, 2025, at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church 8303 Taft St. Merrillville, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am by Rev. Steven Caraher at Our Lady of Consolation. Burial will follow in St John St Joseph Cemetery in Hammond.
