Blue and Jennifer so sorry for your lose. Both of you are always in our prayers.

Diane and family...Richard was such a good and exuberant soul. I enjoyed the time spent with both of you since I've known you guys. It doesn't seem real that he's gone because his personality was sure destined to outlive us all. If there is anything at all I can do for you please let me know. God bless you, your family, and RIP to one of the most honest, smart, outgoing people I could know. Richard my friend...you will be missed.

Blue and Jennifer, I am so sorry for your loss!! The few times I was able to meet your dad he was quiet a character. He made me laugh and was very kind and had a big smile each time. He really loved you guys. I send you my love and sympathy to you and your family and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers in this time of sorry.

Richard's Obituary

Mr. Richard Nathan Barnella, age 70, of North Wilkesboro, died Saturday, August 1, 2015 at his home. He was born July 20, 1945 in Bay County, Michigan to William and Martha Rayl Barnella. Mr. Barnella was a member of the Arbor Day Foundation; he loved raising wild birds, gardening, raising flowers, shrubs and trees. He was preceded in death his parents; daughter, Lori Kay Zettle; and a brother, Robert "Bob" Barnella.Surviving are his wife, Diane Marie Boehm Barnella of the home; five sons, Richard Allan Barnella of Clayton, N.C., Blue Brian Barnella of North Wilkesboro, Timothy Joseph Mills of Pine Tops, N.C., John Michael Mills of Knightdale, N.C., Paul Daniel Mills of Raleigh; daughter, Jennifer Deanna Barnella of Selma, N.C.; two sisters, Judith Seelinger of Gaylord, Michigan, Barbara Drewery of Virginia; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren.Memorial service will be held at a later date.
