WATERTOWN, NY – Richard L. Besaw, 99, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Samaritan Keep Home where he was a resident.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 1:30 PM in Parrish Cemetery, Town of Pamelia.
Richard was born on December 2, 1925 in New York City, the adopted son of Richard and Lusetta (Phillips) Besaw.
He worked for the Watertown Daily Times, House of the Good Samaritan, and Woolworth’s Department Store.
In the fall of 1971, he married Marjorie Fraser, who also resides at Samaritan Keep Home.
Richard enjoyed woodworking and caring for his lawn.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother-in-law, Lyle Fraser of Watertown, and a sister-in-law, Janet Fraser of Black River.
