I serve as your Navy Arlington Lady on May 31, 2018 as FC2 Richard Charles Peter Walter and Audrey S. Walter are laid to rest at the National Cemetery columbarium.

So sorry for your loss. Was friend to both at Citrus Park.

Richard Charles Peter's Obituary

Richard Charles Peter Walter, Sr., 94, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Trinity Grove.

He was born in NY, NY on May 22, 1923, son of the late Peter Walter and Ann Strasser Walter Jenness.

Mr. Walter was a veteran of the United States Navy and a Plank Owner of the USS Hornet CV12.  He retired after 37 years with the NY Telephone Company and was a member of the NY Telephone Pioneers. Mr. Walter was a Master Mason at Gavel Lodge #703, and enjoyed fishing, travel, and bingo at Citrus Park, Florida.

Mr. Walter is survived by a son, Richard Walter, Jr. (Thelma), Kathy Natale (Gino), and Marilyn Walter (Jennifer); grandchildren, Kirstin Tart (Jon), Timothy Walter (Sarah), Tiffany Natale, Devon Natale, Stephen Natale, and Jessica Walter; nine great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey S. Walter, granddaughter, Kimberly Walter, brother, Peter Walter, sister, Miriam Borchers, and step-father, Lloyd Jenness.

A memorial service will be held at 4 pm Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Water of Life Lutheran  Church. 4126 South College Road, Wilmington, NC, 28412.Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to the USS Hornet Foundation, P.O. Box 460, Alameda, CA, 94501.
