I am so sorry for your "love of your life" loss,my condolences to you and your family.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. We were so sorry to hear about your loss. After a while, the pain will get easier to live with. It helps a little to remember the good times.

Richard's Obituary

Richard Cordova, Jr. passed away Friday, September 14, 2018.  He was born November 28, 1959, in Jourdanton, Texas to Richard G. and Dominga (Cornejo) Cordova, Sr.

As a young boy Richard loved playing sports. He was quite the athlete in Jr. High and excelled in all sports throughout High School.  He continued to play tennis, basketball and baseball in leagues after he graduated. In 1981 he married his loving wife, Martha Trevino and they soon began a family. He worked as an Electrician at San Miguel Electric for the next 23 years providing for his family and continued his love for sports coaching his children thru their little league/major league years. He continued to rally and support them thru Jr. High and High School sports until they graduated. Richard was a jack of all trades. He painted vehicles, horse trailers, over hauled engines and helped anyone at anytime. He did AC and Electrical work for family and friends throughout the years. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting and took his family and friends along for the ride. His sons and grandsons enjoyed going with him to the lease. After leaving San Miguel he worked for a few yrs with Sotello Electric and the another 7 years with Jaime Ramirez Electric. In 2012 he went to work at the Atascosa County Sheriffs Office as Maintenance  Supervisor/Corrections for Sheriff David Soward. He worked there and loved his job until his career there was shortened by his illness. He made friends everywhere he went. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, family and anyone he crossed paths with.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Dominga Cornejo Cordova; paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Matiana Cordova; maternal grandparents, Theodoro and Maria Cornejo; father-in-law, Jesse C. Trevino; sister-in-law, Linda Silva and his godson, John Anthony Leyva.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Martha Trevino Cordova; father, Richard G. Cordova, Sr.; sons, Richard “Rocky” Cordova and wife Amber and Alan James Cordova; daughter, Amanda Medina and husband Robert; sisters, Norma Jordan and husband Tommy and Betty Cordova; mother-in-law, Florentina H. Trevino; grandchildren, Matthew Robert Medina, Andrew Robert Medina, Jacob Robert Medina and Ryan James Cordova.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are Rocky Cordova, A. J. Cordova, Tommy Jordan, Lawrence Trevino, Robert Medina and Stephen Wilson.  Honorary Pallbearers are Jesse Cordova and Roy Trevino.

A visitation will be Monday, September 17, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel.   A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Jourdanton.  Interment to follow at San Jose Cemetery in Jourdanton.  Anyone wishing to leave condolences, share memories or sign the online book may do so at www.hurleyfuneralhome.com .
