Dearest Rose and Family, We are so saddened by news of Dicks passing. Some of my fondest childhood memories are the Minstrel Shows that he created. Over the Years my boys have lovingly referred to you guys as Nana Rose & Papa Dick still to this day. So sorry for your loss. He was such a kind and giving gentleman. A wonderful husband, father and friend. He was also a fantastic leader with all the teenagers at st Catherine’s. His love and dedication to family, friends and neighbors bought him a direct ticket to eternal piece. He will be forever remembered. My prayers are with his family.

DALEY, Richard J “Dick”, Sr. – 94, Of Naples, FL, formerly of Somerville, where he lived for most of his life passed away unexpectedly at home on May 8, 2021.
Beloved husband of 72 years to Rose M. (McCarthy).
Devoted father of Richard J. “Doc” Daley, Jr. and his wife Mary of Somerville, Deborah Ripley and her husband Charles of Naples, FL, Brian Daley and his wife Debra of Medford, Noreen Straughn and her husband Glenn of North Reading and the late Scott Daley.
Dear brother of Margaret McCarron, Louise Reeves, Robert Daley, Eleanor Moran, Dolores Kelly, and the late George Daley.
Loving grandfather of Eric, Sheila, Michael, Janelle, Katelyn, Brian, Steven, Brittany and Erin.
Also survived by 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours in St. Clement Church, 64 Warner St., Medford, MA 02155, Monday morning 9:00-11:00 am immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial and interment with Military Honors at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
Mr. Daley was a member of American Legion Post 388, Somerville, veteran of the US Navy serving proudly during WWII and retired longtime employee of J.L. Hammett’s School Supply Co.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dick’s memory to St. Clement Parish, 71 Warner St., Medford, MA 02155 or the charity of your choice.
