Not sure what to say?

I only met Rick a few times thru his involvement with the Sons of Union Veterans. He and his grp helped us pay our respects and honor the CW soldiers buried in Potter Cemetery in Ash Township in Monroe County in 2017. I had no idea he had passed until my recent e-mail to him bounced back and then I looked him up and found the obit. My deepest sympathy to Irma and his entire family. I did not know Rick well but he was a very nice gentleman.

My husband, Jerry Radloff, was extremely fond of Rick, having met him when Rick was leading the local Civil War descendants' group. Dick's kind and dedicated enthusiasm was Jerry's main reason for staying involved as a member of the group. Of course, I also met Rick several times over the years at the group meetings. He was always a real gentleman with a great sense of humor and a welcoming energy. Our hearts go out to Irma, and to all of Rick's family members. He will be missed and forever...

Dear Irma, I am profoundly saddened to hear of the passing of your husband, Rick. Please accept my deepest sympathy for the your loss. I will remember him for being one of the kindest neighbors I am blessed to have known. His absence is felt. I am so sorry for your broken heart. Thinking of you and holding you in my heart.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Irma and Family. We are so very sorry for the loss of Rick.We we’re just talking about the good times we have had together.Prayers to all Dennis and Carol❤

Mr. Danes, our beloved Scout Master. To a bunch of us kids in the late 70s and early 80s, he was such a cool dude and dad. I so fondly remember hanging at the Danes house and especially their pool after Crowley Pool closed for the day. He will forever be remembered and in our hearts. Take Care Mr. D.

Rick was one of the sweetest man we have ever known. He was funny, kind and would do anything for anyone. Rick will truly be missed

Rick was a great gentleman who was very helpful when I used to volunteer at Woodmere Cemetery. Rick would help folks obtain a headstone for their Civil War ancestor or do a dedication ceremony for those who had fought in the war. He was so knowledgeable about how the burials for fallen soldiers would have been conducted during that time, and he gave honor to those who had fought so bravely. The families always remarked what a wonderful occasion this was. We gave him so much credit for...

My family and I will always remember the great times we had at Dearborn Homecoming doing the Living History Hill. Rick invited us to bring our displays and take part along with his SUVCW camp and treated us like family. Rest in peace my Brother. Irma you are in our prayers. All our Love. Butch & Kathy Miller. Emily, Tim and little one Sophia Ernst
