Richard J. Dolan Sr.

Richard J. Dolan Sr., 89, of Wallingford, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at MidState Medical Center. He was the loving husband of the late Gloria Ann Wood Dolan.He was born in Ireland, December 3, 1922, a son of the late Thomas and Katherine Garrety Dolan and Immigrated to the United States at the age of 25. He was silversmith at International Silver Company for 38 years until his retirement. Mr. Dolan was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Pinta Council #5.He is survived by his two sons, Richard J. Dolan Jr. and his wife Barbara of Wallingford, and James F. Dolan of Meriden; his grandsons, Ryan J. Dolan of South Carolina, Jason P. Dolan and his wife Kelli of Meriden, and Seth C. Dolan of Boston; his great grandchildren, Shea, Abby, Cami, Bryce and Cassidy Dolan; his sister, Rose Collins of England; his brother, Thomas Dolan of New York; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Pat and Willie Dolan.His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, on Friday, August 17, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. from The Wallingford Funeral Home when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery.
