Richard J. Garchinsky, 72, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at the Lebanon Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy Vail Price. On June 21st, they celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary.Born in Upper Darby on September 29, 1942, he was the son of the late John S. and Adele D. Godzieba Garchinsky. He worked for PennDOT, where he had been the Maintenance Manager for the Lancaster, York and Lebanon Counties. He retired as the Maintenance Manager for Dauphin County. Richard was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Cornwall. He had been an aviator in the US Naval Reserve and earned the rank of lieutenant. He received his BA in Philosophy at Villanova and studied with the Order of Saint Augustine to become a priest. He enjoyed fishing, building model ships, carpentry and especially spending time with his family.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Elissa M. wife of Dr. Mark Leach of Palmyra, Jennifer V. wife of Marc Freshley of Lebanon and Laura C. wife of Greg Kemble of Hershey; his son Dr. Christopher R. husband of Janet Garchinsky of Lebanon; brother Roger J. Garchinsky of Davenport, FL; sister Bonnie V. Garchinsky of Big Bend, WV; and ten grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Margaret Rose Leach.A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2015, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown and one hour prior to the Mass on Monday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 2596 Cornwall Road, Cornwall. Interment will follow at the Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Order of St. Augustine, Augustine Provincial Office, P.O.
