Not sure what to say?

I am so sad to hear of Rick's passing. When I'd come in to teach my labs in the evenings I loved getting to visit with him in the prep lab and talk about his fish and comic book related things as well as what all I needed for my lab prep for the upcoming labs. He is very much missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this time.

Thinking back to when I first met Rick, Memorial Day 1987, the Frey’s pool party. Of course everyone was having fun. I became aware then how fun loving and intelligent he was. That friendship has continued these past 38 years. These past 3 months he and I had many phone conservations that I truly cherished. The conversions were so varied ranging from topics of IU Football, electronics, cars and the weather. He was so easy to talk to. I know my calls uplifted him but boy did the calls...

My sadness continues as I deal with the loss of my brother Rick. He always had his presence..even as the irritating little brother. What a memory he had of soo many experiences in our long lives together. He could tell a great story too. His big smile and laughter was just great. I did love his bigger than life hugs and his calling me ‘Barbie’. All these things and many more will be some of my loving memories of my life with my brother Rick.

Peggy, you are in our thoughts. We both are so sorry for your loss. Our prayers and comforting thoughts are with you.

Thank you, Frey family and friends.

May the sweet memories of time with Rick bring you comfort and peace as you weather the waves of grief. We have been stunned by learning of him and Jasper being fans of NXG and the gifts we have received as a result. Thank you. We hope to see Jasper in class one day. We only wish we had known him as you have. His story is so full of love, life and all the things that matter. Hugs to all of you.

Rick and I worked together at IUPUI-Biology for several years in the early 2000s and our common interests lead to a life-long friendship. Being both "motor heads," we often bantered between GM vs. Ford while enjoying a few cold beers, sharing stories, or went shopping for tools. In one of our last texts, he commented on how "we always have a blast", demonstrating how Rick was a unique, fun, upbeat, and happy person who loved his family, friends, and life. He was a big brother to me,...

I met Rick in Law school. We were both what might be called "Mature" students who enjoyed a friendship over 4 years. He was a special person while a great love for enjoying everyday. We had a lot in common and he made law school special and fun. He spoke often of his family. We both played the saxophone poorly but with "Gusto". He will be missed by all that had the pleasure to know him.

I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband, Peg. Sending you and your family love.

Dear Peg, I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
