The most we ever made...

Richard William Menage, son of William and Katherine (Doekson) Menage was born February 24, 1940 in Sibley, Iowa. He grew up in Rock Rapids, Iowa and graduated from Rock Rapids High School in 1958.
After graduation, he entered the United States Air Force. He then attended IBM School in Omaha, Nebraska and returned to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to work for Nash Finch Company. Rich was united in marriage with Judy Blair at Immanuel Lutheran Church on June 30, 1961. Rich was working and going to school at Augustana College at the same time and graduated with a Business and Accounting degree in 1966. They moved to Marshall, MN where Rich was a district supervisor for Champlin Oil and at that time they welcomed their first daughter, Rebecca on December 5, 1967. Rich and Judy moved back to Sioux Falls in 1969 where he worked as a bank Auditor for several years. They welcomed their second daughter, Robin on November 25, 1972. Rich then worked as a Trust Officer at Norwest Bank before retiring.
Rich enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and camping. He especially enjoyed his Elk and Deer Hunting trips to Colorado and the Black Hills. He spent many summers with his daughter Rebecca back packing, bike riding (Ragbrai), and with Robin earning their Black Belt degree in Taekwondo. He was an avid collector of many things such as hunting knives, flashlights, watches, lanterns and maybe just a little bit of everything he was interested in. He also could fix or repair anything. Rich’s other interests included bow hunting, ham radio, being a weather spotter, and Boy Scout Leader for Troop 150 for 10 years which was held at East Side Lutheran Church. He loved improving his little Scamp Camper and going camping with Judy and Blair every summer, including a trip to Alaska.
Rich is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy; daughters, Rebecca (Darin) Corcoran, Robin (Pete) Stencil; granddaughter, Blair Corcoran; sister, Carol (Jim) Bechler; sister-in-law, Lois (Jim) Kruse; nieces and nephews, Rachael Green and Heath Bechler, Charles Kruse, Kim Heyer, Nicole Jennings; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Katherine; his mother and father in - laws, John and Leona Blair; and his beloved pets over the years.
