Robbie I’m so sorry I missed the service. I adored your parents and sending you love.

So sorry for your loss. Thank you for your service sir. Ted and I knew Richard and Helen thru Red River Harley Davidson. Both were great friends. He will be missed . May God bless you and may his memories live on thru you.

Richard's Obituary

Richard E. Robinson, 90, of Thornberry passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett with Rev. Ronnie Lawson, officiating.

Richard was born on July 15, 1935 in Mount Holly, New Jersey to the late Harry and Anna (Nixon) Robinson.  At the young age of 16, his mother signed papers authorizing him to join the United States Marine Corps.  After the Marine Corps, Richard enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served for twenty-five years, until retirement.  He then went on to work as an electrician for GM/Delphi, and taught courses at Sheppard Air Force Base.  He also worked at the Harley Davidson dealer in Wichita Falls.

He met Helen Barfield at P3 one day, while here TDY with the Air Force, and that began a relationship that lasted deployment after deployment, move after move, until her passing in 2023.  The couple had two children, Richard, and Robbie.  

Richard was a fifty-year member of Burkburnett Masonic Lodge #1027, York Rite Bodies, Maskat Shrine, and Order of the Eastern Star.  He was also an original member of the Harley Owners’ Group (HOG), and was recognized for over three hundred fifty thousand miles traveled on his motorcycle, from coast to coast, and border to border.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son Richard; and four siblings.

Richard is survived by daughter Robbie Robinson; along with several nieces and nephews.
