Richard Lee Schlichenmayer known lovingly as “Slick”, passed away May 2, 2025. Born in North Dakota to Samuel and Katherine Schlichenmayer, he had been a longtime Hampton resident. At 18 he joined the Airforce where he served four years. Richard retired from Langley Cabs after 30 plus years where he worked as a service technician and meter technician.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Hilda Schlichenmayer, six sisters and five brothers. He is survived by two sisters; four daughters, Maryann Kirkland and son in-law David Kirkland of Hampton, Katrina Schlichenmayer Love of Newport News, Tracey Netherland Huber of Powhatan Virginia, and Barbara Harris of Hampton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 11AM at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Dr. Hampton 23666.
