Your dad and mom were two really fine people. your dad did fill in at our bridge games a few times. He was so much fun! you were fortunate to have two fine people for parents. My sympathy to you all. I know he will be missed.

Mr. Richard William Spencer, 97, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at his home in Jamestown, Indiana. He was born November 30, 1927, in Jasonville, Indiana, a son of the late Richard R. and Se Verne (Claywell) Spencer.
On April 17, 1949, he married Betty Ann Spencer in Jamestown, Indiana. She preceded him in death on July 10, 2023.
He graduated from Cayuga High School in 1945. Richard worked as a tool maker at Hamblen Gage Corp. for 32 years.
He was a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church. Richard enjoyed working in his yard, fishing, golfing, woodworking, reading, jigsaw puzzles and being with his family.
Survivors include his children, Mark Spencer (Sherry) of Jamestown, Dianna Baxter (Bruce) of Indianapolis, and Terry Spencer of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Brandon, Travis, T.J., and Harrison; five great grandchildren, Lincoln, Veda, Iris, Maizey and Liv.
In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by his siblings, Elizabeth Fuller, Merlin E. Spencer Sr., and Harriet Armstrong.
Funeral Services with Military Rites are planned for 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Porter and Hunt Funeral Home, 315 West Main Street, in Jamestown, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Jamestown, Indiana.
Memorials may be directed in his memory to charity of donor’s choice.
