My dear sweet brother, you left us so soon, so suddenly and so unexpectedly. I will fondly hold in my heart the memories of arriving home on Bessler’s Lake just after noon on Thursdays to find you sitting on the hood of your car waiting for me. We would enjoy our chats, fishing for crappies and bluegills, and how you enjoyed almost getting me snockered on what you called “double rum” a couple of times. Richard's Obituary

Richard G. Woolard passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at the age of 66. 

He is survived by his dearest wife, Cheryl Woolard. His dearest children Hayden Woolard, Heather Gaffney, Cameron Gaffney & Ian Gaffney all of Valley Park, Missouri. His six siblings Rose Stern (Gene) of Seminole, Florida, Michael Woolard (Adele Heagney) of St. Louis, Robert Woolard (Deanna Lee), Raetta VonBehren (Ronald) all of Peoria, Illinois, Elizabeth (Betsy) Sawyer (Kelly) of Edwardsville, Illinois, and Christina Shelton (Rick) of Granite City, Illinois. His parents-in-law Paul and Madalyn Bump of Arnold, a brother-in-law Derek Bump (Kelli) of Arnold, his former spouse, Pamela Daniel Woolard. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, a great nephew, many friends and especially dearest friend Scott Daniel. 

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Idell Woolard, by two sons Anthony and Nathan Woolard, and by a niece and nephew, Eve and Ronald VonBehren, Jr. 

Richard loved providing for and being with his family at the beach above all else. He loved fishing & being outdoors. His favorite pastime for many years has been shooting pool in a league. He was an absolute devoted husband and father & will be missed by all who knew him.

Services: Celebration of life gathering at the FAMILY CENTER at SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Thursday, March 12, from 3-8 p.m. If desired, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
