Ricky's Obituary

Ricky Willis Doby, 66, of Prattsville, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. He was born on February 8, 1959, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to his loving parents, Theo and Mildred Elizabeth Bryant Doby.

Ricky attended the public schools in Sheridan, Arkansas, while growing up in Prattsville. In his younger years, he was a gifted basketball player with natural skill and confidence on the court. He loved to have a good time and was known for his energetic personality—Ricky was truly the life of the party. Loud, outspoken, and full of spirit, he never had trouble making his presence known, and he could always bring a smile or a laugh to those around him.

For a period of time, Ricky lived in Oregon, but he eventually found his way back home to Prattsville, where he remained for the rest of his life. Ricky was known throughout the community as a hardworking man. He took pride in maintaining several yards around town and genuinely enjoyed the simple satisfaction of yard work. In his quiet moments, he liked to relax and watch the news, keeping up with the world around him.

Ricky was preceded in death by his loving parents; his son, Ricky Ellison; daughters, Latoya Ramsey and Mildred Ellison; a brother, Phillip Doby; and his nephews, Cletus Box and Joe Nolen.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Marquita Doby of Benton, Arkansas; his brother, Joel Clegg (Brenda) of Prattsville; three sisters, Ruth Ann Doby of Portland, Orgon, Arnetta Johnson (Bobby) of Prattsville, Elsie Doby of Malvern; two grandchildren: Da'Rias Doby and Ca'Myah Edwarda along with a host of other relatives and friends who will remember him with love .A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held in Ricky's honor at 1:00 P.M., at Davis Creek Baptist Church in Prattsville, on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Friends and loved ones are invited to share messages of comfort in Ricky’s online guestbook below.

Brandon’s Mortuary is honored to be entrusted with his professional care.
