Ricky Yates, Jr.

Ricky Yates Jr. passed away on December 3, 2023, at 9:03 p.m. in Beaumont, Texas, at the age of 30. He was born on January 5, 1993, to Ricky Yates Sr. and Pamela Harris-Fisher in Peoria, Illinois. Ricky graduated from Peoria Central High School and had a passion for remodeling old-school cars, entrepreneurship, video gaming, and reading self-help books. Above all, he loved spending time with his children and family.

Ricky is survived by his father, Ricky Yates Sr. of Peoria, his mother, Pamela Fisher (formerly Durand) of Starkville, MS, his special friend Karissa London, and his two children, Ricky Ro'Zay Yates (12) and Carson Yates (6), both of Peoria. He is also survived by four sisters: Mary (Terry Jr.) Slaughter of Beaumont, TX, Rickyra Yates of Peoria, Nala Yates of Duluth, GA, and Kendra Yates of Atlanta, GA. Ricky is also survived by seven nephews: Terry Slaughter III, Terryon Slaughter, both of Beaumont, TX, Kyrie Yates of Peoria, Mar'Cion Yates and Mason Yates, both of Duluth, GA, Qua'Tay Yates, and Tray'Vion Christopher, both of Atlanta, GA. Additionally, he is survived by three nieces: Raniya Yates and Kamiyah Yates, both of Peoria, and Sha'Riah Yates of Atlanta, GA.

Ricky was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Myrtis Yates, maternal grandparents J.C. and Mary Harris, one aunt, Gwendolyn Risby, two uncles, Larry Yates and John Yates, and one niece, Makaya Yates.

Funeral Services for Ricky will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, with visitation commencing at 9:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life service at 10:00 a.m. at the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ, 401 Elm St, Peoria, IL

Ricky will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery, at 914 S. Pleasant St, in Peoria, IL 

Arrangements were made for the Fisher/Yates family and professionals directed by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel, 201 N. MacArthur Hwy Peoria, IL.
