Rita, along with Shirley and Vera, was such an important part of my life growing up. The last time I spoke with her, all she could talk about was how proud she was of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was everything to Rita, and her smile could truly warm any room.
She will be missed by so many. During times like this, we realize that grief is not something you get over—it’s something you get through, together.

Rita E. (Corazzini) Head – Of Tewksbury, formerly of Arlington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. She was 88 years old.
Rita was born in Boston and raised and educated in Somerville, she was employed for many years at McLean Hospital in Belmont
Rita was the daughter of the late Palmarino and Michelina (Repucci) Corazzini,
The beloved wife of the late Martin Head and the devoted mother of Cheryl Salamone and her husband Robert of Tewksbury, Anne Marie Meade and her husband David of Tewksbury. Rita was also the loving grandmother of Jenny Barrows and her husband Patrick of Metheun, Dennis Barnes and his fiancé Jen of Pelham NH, Cameron Salamone of Tewksbury, and Ryan Meade of Tewksbury. She was also the great-grandmother to Dylan Barnes, Jake Barrows, Lucy Barrows, Sierra Barnes, and Sophia Barnes. The sister Shirley Martis and her husband Donald of Stoneham, and the late Vera Moore and her surviving husband Robert of Medford. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Monday, February 2nd from 9:30AM to 11:30AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated at St. Agnes Church 32 Medford St. Arlington at 12:00PM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Services will conclude with interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
