Sweet memories of dear Rita. We were in band together and played tenor saxes. So many high school memories...all good. You all are blessed to have had her as a Mom & grandmother. I know Herman will be very lonely, so you all take care of him.

Rita Margaret Kolar, of Midwest City, Oklahoma died peacefully Thursday, March 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in El Reno, OK, April 5, 1945, to Lawrence and Elizabeth Reherman, Rita was the 2nd of 6 children and grew up on her family’s dairy farm. She earned her Bachelor of Education degree in 1965 from Sacred Heart College (Newman University) in Wichita, KS, and was a dedicated public educator for over 30 years in OK and KS.
During her college years, she met the love of her life, Herman Kolar and they were married in 1966. They lived in Wichita, KS, and Colorado Springs, CO, while Herman served in the U.S. Army. In this period, they welcomed their first two children Andrea and Clint. Soon they relocated to Kingfisher, OK, where they welcomed their third child, Kurt.
Rita enjoyed spending time with her family, including five grandchildren, traveling throughout the U.S. with trips to Europe and Brazil, and was active in her church, St. Philip Neri. She was very talented in her hobbies of gardening, sewing, knitting, cross stitching, working with wood, ceramics and clay, but her favorite was painting.
Rita is survived by her husband Herman Kolar of Midwest City, OK, children, Andrea & David Eden (grandchildren, Amanda, Erich, Christian) of Harrah, OK, Clint & Cynda Kolar (grandchildren, Kaley, Heidi) of Moore, OK, and Kurt & Erica Kolar of Roseville, CA and her five siblings, Cecelia Voss of El Reno, OK, Marie Tenborg of Wichita, KS, Fred Reherman, Lawrence Reherman II, and John Reherman all of Kingfisher, OK.
Visitation will be at Sander’s Funeral Home Tuesday, 1 April, 9:00am to 6:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, 2 April, 10:30am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher, OK, concluding with interment at Kingfisher Cemetery, followed by an informal lunch at Ross Hall.
