Our beloved Bob passed away at home on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, after a difficult and courageous battle with cancer. We have lost a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend and just a great man. He is loved by so many and will be greatly missed. Bob took our hearts to Heaven with him. Please keep Bob and us in your prayers.
It would take a book to capture the life and joy Bob packed into his 63 years, and the lives he touched. After graduating from Maryvale High School, Bob earned a B.S.B.A degree in Marketing and Management from Northern Arizona University. In addition to owning a business for 29 years, he earned a Post-Baccalaureate and taught middle school math for over 10 years. He was Andrew’s Assistant Scout Master in Boy Scouts, Diamondback Little League Coach and Board Member and N.Y.S. Coach. He served as an A.I.A. official for football, baseball and swim and supported Jessica’s synchronized swim team. He served in the Knights of Columbus as a Fourth Degree and was a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul. An avid fishermen and hiker, Bob completed the Mount Whitney summit hike in one day in 2013.
Bob was the most amazing husband to his wife of almost 35 years, Marisa. He was the most fun and supportive Dad to Jessica and Andrew, and his legacy lives on in them. Bob is preceded in death by his sister Deborah Benincasa and brother Paul Benincasa. Bob is survived by his family, his mother Joan Lambing, and siblings Joni Armel (Lon), Edward Benincasa (Kathy), Susan Cano (Johnny), Frank Benincasa (Diana), Mary Nelson (Paul) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Surprise, Arizona on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. The Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. His reception will follow at the home of Jessica and Eddie Solares at 1:00 p.m.
A private Rite of Committal will take place in Flagstaff, Arizona at a later date.
