Robert Alan Birdsall

Robert Alan Birdsall, 68, of Gloucester, passed away on Sunday, November 09, 2025 at his home in Gloucester, Virginia.

He was born on March 02, 1957, in Petersburg, Virginia, a son of the late Orion Lewis Birdsall, Jr., and Marlene Cletus (Saunders) Birdsall. He grew up on and about his grandfather's farm; as anyone who knew him can tell you, he loved his family and would share his stories of growing up on the farm that kept both friends and family entertained.

Robert graduated Gaithersburg High School in Maryland, in the class of 1975 and later worked for Montgomery County Public schools until his retirement on disability owed to a back injury. He was a member of Bellamy United Methodist Church and enjoyed coffee and gardening.

Survivors include his children Susan and Carl, his grandchildren via his daughter, Nicholas, Adam, & Teddy, his siblings Anna and Jimmy, his nephew James, his stepmother Peggy Birdsall, and his cousins Chip and Sara Lynn.

A grave side service will be conducted at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Bellamy United Methodist Church by Pastor Ed Walker. All are welcome to attend.
