Robert's Obituary

Robert Campbell, age 80, of Alamo, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025. He was born on July 25, 1945, in Athens, Alabama, to his loving parents, Joe and Osie Easley Campbell.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved sisters, Clementine Pritchell and Emma Gene Warren, and his dear sister-in-law, Barbara Campbell,  Betty's children whom he loved as his own , Albert, Dean, David, and Denetta Thomas  . He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Sue Campbell, his sons, Nicholas Knight, and Darrell Thomas, his brother, Wallace Campbell.

Robert was a man of intelligence, dedication, and profound wisdom. His love for his family, country, and profession was evident in his everyday actions. On September 12, 2012, he married Betty Cheatham, and together they made their homes in various locations, including Cabot and Brinkley, before finally settling in Alamo, Texas.

From 1963 to 1967, Robert served his country with honor and dignity in the Army. Stationed in Ausburg, Germany, he worked as a Tank Armor crewman, a role he performed with utmost courage and commitment. Upon returning to the States, Robert embarked on a long and fulfilling career as a truck driver, a role he held for 42 years before retiring.

Robert's faith was a cornerstone of his life. In 1977, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior, at the Cross Road Baptist Church. He profoundly enjoyed sharing his knowledge and understanding of his faith with his church family at the Brinkley First Baptist Church before moving to Texas. Robert  served on various committees within the churches.

Among his many interests and hobbies, fishing was his favorite. He often found peace and tranquility sitting by the water's edge, rod in hand. His love for the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life was infectious and brought joy to everyone around him.

Robert's life was a testament to the power of faith, the importance of family, and the value of hard work. His spirit, love, and dedication will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace, Robert. Your legacy will continue through the lives of those you've touched and the love you've shared. May you find eternal peace and happiness in the arms of our Savior.

The family would like to give thanks to a very special niece Christina Oswalt and granddaughter, Jennifer Treat, for all the love and compassion shown with their help and support during this time.

In lieu of flowers the family request  donations  be given to the Brinkley First Baptist Church.
