Obituary

Robert “Robbie” Lawrence Carson Sr. passed away unexpectedly August 23rd, 2022 at his residence. Born October 27th, 1952 in Catawba County, North Carolina, to the late Everette Tenderous Carson, Sr. and Gladys Sudderth Carson, he was 69 years old. 

Robert was a graduate of Hickory High School in Hickory, North Carolina where he played basketball and football.  He was an avid swimmer. Robert was very athletic and was artistic as a singer and bongo player.  He was also a skilled artist.  He worked for the pipeline for many years and served in the US Army.    

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandson Holland Brabham.

Left to cherish fond loving memories are his sister, Sue Carolyn Hodge (Richard) of Hickory, North Carolina; brother, Everette T. “June” Carson of Newton, North Carolina; his sons, Deborce L. Knox (Doretta) of Dunn, North Carolina, Robert Lawrence Carson, Jr., of Hickory, North Carolina; daughters, Erica R. Carson of Greensboro, North Carolina, Tina L. Carson of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Shateela M. Carson of Hickory, North Carolina; grandsons, Charles Monte Carson, Brandon Knox, Shawn Simmons, Raheem Simmons, Cire McKinney and Triston Fuller;  granddaughters Chara Caviness, Zahne McKinney and Brooklyn Ramseur; 12 great-grandchildren; two aunts Vern Hunter and Peggy Carson; nephew, Eric Hodge (Brenda) of Conover, North Carolina; niece, Teresa Hodge Fuller (Jimmy) of Mt. Holly, North Carolina  and a host of loving cousins, other relatives, and friends.
