Robert “Buck” Chambers Sr. 95, of Liberty, TX passed Sept. 22, 2017.Services are Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Lily of the Valley Baptist Church 3802 Oilfield Rd., Liberty, TX. Visitation will begin at 9AM until Funeral at 11AM. Interment will be in Well’s Cemetery, Liberty, TX.Robert “BucK”, was born to James (Pop Bill) and Lugenia Chambers on September 11, 1922. Buck grew up in South Liberty Oilfield. A Liberty native, Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, relative and friend. He was a loyal employee of the City of Liberty until retirement. He met Mae Dell Armstead in 1690. They had a loving courtship for 3 years and married on July 20, 1963. In this union, he accepted a step-son and 4 children were born. He adored his children. Buck was a devoted Deacon at Lily of the Valley Baptist Church. Buck always made himself available for his church and family, often sharing and teaching his passion for the Lord. He had a passion for singing gospel music. He would sing anywhere, anytime! He kept the nurses smiling at the nursing home.Buck was preceded in death by his parents James & Lugenia Chambers; Five brothers, James C. Chambers, Judge Floyd Chambers, David Charles Chambers, George Wesley Chambers and Alfred Lloyd Chambers; Three sisters, Lucinda Edwards, Fannie Mae Warren and Ellen Mary Sias; One son, Marvin Joe Chambers, Sr.Buck leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Mae Dell Chambers; Three sons, Eddie Dean Armstead, Robert Chambers (Roshunda), Nathan Chambers (Tiffany); One daughter, Bridget Hopkins (Cody); and a host of loving grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
