May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Robert was a special cousin to me. Loved him dearly.

I have been friends with Robert sence the fifth grade. He was always and upbeat and helpful person to those in need. Lots of fun times in the past, he will be missed.

Bob was a friend to anyone who needed or wanted a friend. I met him thru construction & later in running/walking events. I always enjoyed talking with him.
My heart goes out to his family.

Robert Edward was my cousin. I didn’t get to see him very often, but when I did, he was always so cordial and nice. I have many good childhood memories of Robert. I will miss him, but I know I’ll see him again.

Obituary

Robert's Obituary

Robert Edward Chrisman, 80, husband of Leslie Nicholas Chrisman, passed away on July 27, 2025. He was born on November 20, 1944, in Sand Gap, KY, to the late Vernon Chrisman and Josephine Lakes Chrisman.

Robert proudly served as a Battalion Chief on 1st Platoon with the Lexington Fire Department, all while working as a building contractor — a role he continued after his retirement from the fire service. A man of deep faith and tireless dedication, Robert was a member of New Harvest Assembly of God, where he served on the missions board. He gave his time and skills to building homes with Habitat for Humanity, constructing several Lexington fire stations, and most notably leading the development of the community building and ballfield at Anderson County Community Park.  Known for his servant’s heart, Robert was always ready to lend a hand, whether through a mission trip, a quick repair, or a construction project. He was a longtime member of Gideons International, participated in numerous church-led mission trips, and remained actively involved with his fellow Lexington Fire Department retirees. He deeply enjoyed traveling with Leslie and was known by all as kind, selfless, and unfailingly positive. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was simply the best "Papaw" and "Great Grandpa" anyone could ask for.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Lee Chrisman and Harold Gene Chrisman.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Leslie Chrisman; his children Gale Johnson (Scott), Tony Chrisman, and Shelly Chrisman Stucker (Frank Parker, Jr.); his step-children, Brandon Chatterton (Elizabeth) and Shanna Curtsinger; his grandchildren, Morgan, Lyndon, Blake, Bryanna, Haley, Hunter, Chris, Rachel, Summer, Holly, Weston, Stephen; his great grandchildren, Easton, Jack, Aiden, Hudson, Macie, and Cade; his siblings, Mary Alice Revel, Brenda Gabbard, Evelyn Louise Bowman, Rodney V. Chrisman, David Chrisman, and Philip Chrisman; and other significant family members, Patricia Shephard Chrisman, Becky Meadows, Scott Curtsinger, and Demethra Sanders.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Ninevah Christian Church. Terry Cooper will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in the Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lyndon, Blake, Hunter, Evan, Chris, and Cole. Honorary bearers will be Weston and Rylee.

Memorial contributions in Robert’s honor may be made to New Harvest Assembly of God, 3864 U.S. HWY 127, Frankfort, KY 40601 or to The Gideon’s International, Anderson County Gideon Camp, P.O. Box 61, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342-0061.
