I remember having Mr Clark as a sub at Shawnee High school growing up. He was a great man. He will be missed greatly. Will be praying for your family during this time.

Robert Dwight Clark, loving husband, father, teacher and talkative friend to all he met, passed away peacefully at his home July 26, 2014.He was born January 18, 1933 in Elmira, New York to Robert and Helen (Tuttle) Clark.Robert graduated from Hammondsport New York High School in 1951. He attended The University of Massachusetts Greenskeeping School. Robert attended The Ohio State University at Bowling Green and graduated from Eastern Oregon University – La Grande in 1958. Robert did graduate work at Northern Colorado University Greeley.He came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior in his thirties. Robert married Carol Kopp at Kent, Oregon on July 28, 1957. He is survived by his wife; son, Dr. Robert Clark and his wife Carolyn (Tyus) of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Jenae Baughman and her husband Lewis of Shawnee; sister, Deborah Gleason of Dundee, New York; six grandchildren; two nephews, one niece and several great nieces and nephew.He taught at Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Florida, Skaneateles New York High School, and Davis High School, Yakima, Washington where he was the Science Department Chairman. Other teaching locations were Academia Menonita Betania in Aibonito, Puerto Rico and Bandung Alliance International School in Bandung, Indonesia. He substituted in the Shawnee, Oklahoma schools from 1998 until 2011 when his Parkinson's progressed. In 1964, he received a Fulbright Grant to teach Maarif Koleji in Samsung, Turkey. Following that he taught for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Hooper Bay, Alaska and at Fairbanks High School, where he started a rocket program.After a year working in an Oregon grain elevator he taught eight years in Honduras at Escuela International Sanpedrana and Tela Railroad Company (Chiquita Bananas).Returning to the United States, he and his wife owned and operated Helping Hands Preschool – Daycare in Newton, Kansas for eleven years.He and Carol worked in Yellowstone Park, Branson Missouri, where he worked on Thousand Hills Golf Course, and also managed a guest house in Opalaka, Florida. Bob loved amateur radio, travel, teaching and bicycling, often riding backwards to the delight of his grandchildren. He was a member of the Salvation Army in Shawnee and taught Sunday school and did devotionals at the shelter.Remembrances can be made to The Salvation Army or the Parkinson's Foundation.Visitation will start at 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2014 and continue through service time, with the Family Gathering from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Captain Phillip Canning of Salvation Army officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
