Robert's Obituary

Robert Francis DeGust

Passed peacefully on February 22, 2026 at his home in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.

“Bobby” was born on July 2, 1958 to Robert and Rita DeGust of Marshfield, MA. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1976. Husband to Kim DeGust of Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Beloved father to Joshua DeGust and his wife Mary of Rockland, Casey DeGust and his wife Courtney of Beverly, and Molly Rose and her husband Liam of Cambridge. Stepfather to Stephen and David Hurlbut of Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Known as “Papa” to his six grandkids Henry, Ronan, Stella, Josephine, Theodore and Lucy whom he loved very much. Brother to Margaret Moroney, Catherine Herrick, Charles DeGust, Lisa Kinsman and Gerard DeGust. He also had a lot of love for his ten nieces and nephews. Bob and Kim rescued three dogs on their property in Oklahoma who they cherished dearly, Archie, Grady, and Olive.

Bob proudly served his country as an Airborne Infantryman with the 1/509th ABCT. He served from 1979 until 1983 reaching the rank of Specialist, when he was Honorably discharged. His service took him overseas and he often talked fondly of his time in Europe. His awards included the Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Air Assault Badge, US Army Parachutist Badge, Non Commissioned Officer Developmental Ribbon and the Italian Armed Forces Parachutist Badge.

More than anything, Bob loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed many holidays and summer cook-outs with his kids and his brothers and sisters and their families.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Ann’s by the Sea in Marshfield, with burial at Bourne National Cemetery. Date and times TBD.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Bob’s name to the Warrior Dog FoundationWarriordogfoundation.org
