Robert Lee and his family were wonderful neighbors. Spending time with him and his precious family was one of my favorite childhood memories. He was funny and kind. We appreciated him and his family’s kindness. Sending thoughts and prayers.

Robert's Obituary

Robert Lee Dillon, Sr. age 84 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday December 10, 2022 in the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Mr. Dillon was born in Galax, Virginia on November 11, 1938, to William Edward and Lillie Ann Patton Dillon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings William Dillon, John McLean Dillon, Mary Ellen Leonard, Hattie Maxine Morris, Carroll Dillon and Roger Dillon.

He is survived by his wife Evon Evans Dillon; children and spouses Janet “Missy” and Tommy Savage, Julie and Darrin Gunter, Bobby and Tracy Dillon, Jr., Jamie Dillon all of Galax, Virginia; sister Betty Lou Robinson of Curwensville, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren Micheal Melton, Brittany Gamble, Hunter Dillon, Jared Robinson, Taran Dillon, Jacob Gunter, Paxton Dillon, Bailey Allison, Laken Bourne, Brittney Nuckolls and Chelsea Gunter; thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
