Anne (Loel) McIntosh, Karen K. (Mark) Miller, and Martha K. (John) Olberding. He was the devoted father figure to Mary McCarthy (Leonard) Whitling and their son Christopher; and longtime friend of Mary Rita Hirn Riddel.
Bob entered the United States Navy at the tender age seventeen in 1942, and proudly served in the Pacific theater initially as a communications officer then later as ships’ captain of USS LST 1073 during WWII’s final chapter. Upon his return from the Navy in 1946, he graduated from the University of Cincinnati and began working with his Uncle Elmer to grow the newly established E. Kinker and Co. Insurance Agency. He returned to the Navy in 1950 and served during the Korean war until October 1952.
Bob and Kitty married on April 30, 1952; and together they raised their family in Cincinnati. He would often say he would have preferred to have twelve children, but Kitty settled for seven and a mink coat!
Bob was devoted to his family and his business and worked until his retirement in 1995 at the age of 70.
