Not sure what to say?

Our hearts are broken after hearing of Robert's passing. Robert was a class act through and through, and we feel fortunate for the gift of his friendship these many years. I'm sure my mother has welcomed you, and ye are having the craic and enjoying the music you both loved. Our deepest sympathy to Robert's family and friends for their great loss. May you rest in peace. Cailin and Meaghan Gallagher

Rest in peace dear friend. Thanks for all the fun times we shared

Robert: You lit up every room you entered; every song you sang brought joy; every phone call was like renewal of spirit; your every loving gesture was healing; your smile was infectious; every kindness was fulfilling, and every time I heard your voice and we had long conversations I was renewed. I will miss you dreadfully. But sing young man, with gusto and I will hear you. Bless you my faithful friend. Love you forever.

Absolutely heartbroken that Robert has left us. Floods of memories from the old days with Patsy, Jack,Tony Pat, Noeleen ,Walter and so many more good friends. Robert was the kindest soul I’ve ever been so honoured to know - his smile and sense of humour, his amazing voice -how lucky was I to have known him!
Rest in Peace dear Robert.
Your memory will always be a blessing my dear friend.

I only got to know Robert in his mid to later years, I knew he had a bar or two under his belt as he welcomed young musicians into his fold, to strut their stuff. A gentle man and a proven musician in his own right, he will be missed by many. Condolences to all his family and friends.

To Jean, Michael and the Grace Family in Callan - so sorry to hear of Robert's passing. I made it a point very early on in my time here to meet Robert. He was a little drop of Ireland when I was new to America and he was generous of time and spirit. I remember him as extremely kind. Fondly remembering you all and sending my deepest condolences.

Robert was an absolute gem. May he rest in glorious peace.

Robert's Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Elliott, age 66, of Somerville, Massachusetts. Robert died peacefully at his home in Somerville on Monday, December 15, 2025.

Born in Newcastle West, County Limerick, Ireland, Robert carried his Irish roots with him throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his numerous friends both in the United States and Ireland, whose lives were enriched by his warmth, humor, and generous spirit.Robert was predeceased by his parents and his two sisters, Audrey and Yvonne. He is survived by his sister Jean; his aunts and uncles; several nieces and nephews in Ireland; countless friends; and his mischievous and much-loved cat, Dennis, who Robert made sure had a new home before his passing.

Robert was previously a part owner of two well-known bars and restaurants, The Owl and Thistle in Seattle and Tír na nÓg in Somerville, Massachusetts. He loved to cook and entertain, often delighting friends with new recipes and lively evenings filled with conversation and laughter. His greatest passion in life was music—especially Irish ballads and folk music. A gifted musician, Robert shared his love of song as a member of the bands Harvest Home and Johnny Come Lately. He was also a familiar and much-loved character at local pub sessions, where his music, stories, and presence helped create a sense of community wherever he went.

Robert’s kindness, quick wit, love of music, and talent for bringing people together will be remembered always by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
