Dear Brother, You were a splendid boy. Being one of your older sisters, I can remember many things in your young life that carried through to your adulthood. You touched so many people in a positive way and you were loved and admired by many. The world is darker now that you are gone. Rest in peace dear one. Love, Your sister, “Jude”

Robert Genardi, 77, of Lancaster, PA, formerly of Rutherford, NJ, passed away suddenly on February 25th. Born and raised in Passaic, NJ, Robert was drafted during the Vietnam War and honorably served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.Robert was a master builder whose craftsmanship earned significant recognition, including features in New Jersey Magazine. He owned and operated his own construction and fire alarm companies, completing both residential and commercial projects. Robert’s irreplaceable expertise stood the test of time and his work was defined by meticulous detail reflecting the skill of a true artisan. Robert remained deeply devoted to his hometown throughout his life, and among his most distinguished accomplishments was the restoration of the historic Benson Fountain in Passaic. In an act of generosity, Robert restored the fountain as a gift to the city that raised him. Above all, Robert was the beloved husband of 35 years to his wife, Lia Genardi (née Marinelli); a loving and proud father to his children, Anthony, Victoria Moore (née Genardi) and her husband, Brandon, and Alexa; and a doting grandfather to Lorenzo Robert, who brought him immeasurable joy. Robert will be remembered for his steady hands and generous heart. His impact will live on in the structures he built and the many lives he touched. Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5th, from 10:00am – 11:00am at the Macagna Diffily Onorato Funeral Home, 41 Ames Ave, Rutherford, NJ. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00pm at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, 89 Ridge Street, Newark, NJ.
