Dear Joan, Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I loved the write up about him fishing toward heaven. He was not well for a few years and now he can rest from all of the trials. May the Lord watch over you as you adjust not having the fisherman that caught you 54 years ago. Blessings

South Berwick, ME – Robert M Hasty, Jr, 83, fished his way to heaven on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH with his devoted family and friends by his side.Bob was born in South Berwick, ME on November 1, 1934, the beloved son of Robert Hasty, Sr and Louise (Lilly) Hasty Blackmore. Bob was a lifetime resident of South Berwick and an avid outdoorsman. He graduated from Berwick Academy in 1953. He enjoyed brook fishing, hunting and taking rides with Joan or David. Bob served as a Marine for 3 years, worked many years at the multiple shoe shops, and retired from Berwick Academy’s Environmental Services.Surviving members of his grieving family include: his wife of 54 years, Joan Hasty, his brother James Hasty and wife Betty of South Berwick, sister in law Elaine Hasty of Rochester, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his son Robert Hasty, III, parents Robert Hasty Sr, Louise Blackmore, (step-father) Bud Blackmore, (step-mother) Althea Hasty, brother Melvin Hasty.Memorial calling hours will be held at McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home, 301 Main St, South Berwick, Me., on Saturday, May 5th at 10:00 with services at 11:00, followed by a service at Woodlawn Cemetery in South Berwick. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to South Berwick VFW Post 5744, c/o Malcolm Kenney, 52 Agamenticus Rd, S Berwick, ME 03908.
