Robert F. Healy

1931-2019

 

South Hadley – Robert F. Healy, 87, died Saturday in Holyoke Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  Bob was born and raised in Holyoke and moved to South Hadley in 1964.  He was a machine operator starting his career with Monsanto, and for the past 30 years has worked with Plastic Coating, Scott Graphics, James River Graphics, and finally Rexam before retiring in 1995.  A Korean War Veteran, he served with the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion.  In the spring, Bob enjoyed spending time with family and friends sugaring, making maple syrup.   He and his wife, loved to travel across the country, especially to the national parks.  His wife, Judith (Sasseville) Healy died in 1997.  He leaves a daughter Beth Healy, his son Keith Healy and his wife Colleen; two grandchildren Patrick and Maeve Healy; a dear friend Irene Walbridge and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides his wife, Bob was predeceased by his parents William and Bertha (Tower) Healy and his siblings William Healy Jr., Alice Wilkes, Marilyn Parker and Margaret Real.  The funeral will be held at the Curran-O’Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley, Saturday at 11:30am followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  For more information please visit curranobrien.com.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Hadley Council on Aging.
