Such a wonderful guy! Played in a lot of pepper tournaments with him. RIP Bob!!!!

Bob was a great guy known him pretty much my whole life RIP BOB

So very sorry for the family’s loss. I’m truly going to miss one of my oldest friends.

Bob was a long time friend. Started back in early 80s going on motorcycle rides and biker parties. Later in life we rode horses on trail rides and weekend campouts. Will always remember Bob's unforgettable smile and laugh. Miss you my friend.

Memories are priceless and warms our Hearts! I met you & Bea & lil Mandy back in the 70's. You were Nikkis Godfather & she just adore you! All you guys that hung out together was the family & could always depend on one another!stories could go on and on my friend and will keep your memory alive! I remember Bob when his sister and my brother were married. He was a great man. I am so sorry to all family members for your lose.

Robert's Obituary

Robert E. Hunter, 78, of Searsboro, Iowa died Monday, December 22, 2025, at his home.

A private burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery in Kellogg. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Bob was born on February 2, 1947, to Eugene Kenneth and Leathe “Bea” (Meyers) Hunter, in Grinnell, Iowa. He graduated Newton High School in 1965. In June of 1969, Bob enlisted with the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country.  On September 10, 2005, he married Jeannie Phipps in Searsboro.

He enjoyed fast cars and motorcycles. He liked his Corvette and his “Party Bus”. Bob’s favorite pastime was riding horses. 

Bob is survived by his brother; Raymond Hunter of Grinnell; daughter, Mandy Hunter; nephews, Rod Skates and Roger Redding.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeannie on July 1, 2017; sister, Connie Jo Skates on August 16, 2025; and two nephews, Randy Skates and Russell Redding.
