Robert A. (Bob) Jirout

Robert A. (Bob) Jirout, 89, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 22, 2018.

He was born in Chicago on November 4, 1928. Bob was a United States Navy Veteran of four years. He was married to Gretchen Arthur for 67 years. Mr. Jirout had been employed by Kenrose and Tultex.

He is survived by his wife, Gretchen Arthur Jirout; sons, Michael E. Jirout and wife, Melissa, of Orlando, Fla., and David L. Jirout and wife, Eva, of Roanoke; grandchildren, Matthew A. Jirout of Roanoke, Dr. Brian M. Jirout of Columbia, S.C., Allison L. Jirout MS, of Sunrise, Fla., Michelle L. Jirout of Roanoke, John D. Jirout of Roanoke, Mark D. Jirout of Roanoke, and Michael A. Jirout; and a brother, Leonard F. Jirout and wife, Delores, of Deerfield, Ill.; and Denise Jirout of Deerfield, Ill.

The family will receive visitors at Oakey’s South Chapel on Brambleton Ave. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A Graveside Service will immediately follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Bill Himes will officiate.
