Robert's Obituary

Robert L. Knight, Sr., age 91, of Erie, PA, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025. He was born November 11, 1934, son of the late Beatrice and Haskell Knight.

Robert was a United State Marine Corps Veteran and worked at Smith Meter / Geo Source retiring after 29 years. Robert was a deep devoted family man. Family always came first. Robert was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a man that crafted many projects for his loving family. He was truly one of a kind.

Robert is survived by two children Diane, and David (Mindy), eight grandchildren, Carol, Almynd (Hector), David Jr. (Cara), Zach (Britney), Felicity (Marcus), Max (Meredith), Luke, Walter (Regan) and 12 great grandchildren. Two sister-in-law’s Evelyn and Nadine and one-half brother Robert Coleman and a dear friend Dave Sekerak. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Carol Knight, one son Robert Jr. and one daughter Cheryl, two brothers Joe and Ulysses and three sisters Vicki, Helen, and Barbara and three sister-in-law’s Charlotte, Catherine, and Loretta.

The family would like to thank the UPMC Hospice Staff that cared for our father.

Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Pitts Funeral Home 2926 Pine Ave, Erie, PA 16504 on Sunday November 16, 2025 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM followed by a Catholic Mass Service will be held Monday, November, 17 2025 at St James Roman Catholic Church 2635 Buffalo Road, Erie, PA 16510.
