Our deepest sympathy to Lonnie and your family. We spent many wonderful times in Hilton Heald Island with Bob on the golf course and at the Super Bowl parties you both hosted. Rest In Peace Bob.

So sorry for your loss Lonnie. My condolences to you and your family during these difficult times. Always had wonderful memories of the two of you.

Robert's Obituaries

Robert  Crews Lipscomb, Jr., 84, of Clarks Summit, died Thursday morning at the Gardens of Green Ridge in Scranton.  His wife is the former Lonnie Kollarik.

Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Robert Crews Sr. and Ruth Canning Lipscomb.  He graduated from Liberty High School in Bethlehem, and Moravian Preparatory School, as well as the Naval Preparatory School.  He then furthered his education at the U. S. Naval Academy.  He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict both as a member of the Navy and the Army. 

He was a draftsman for R. E. Moyer Inc. in Catasauqua, PA and served on the Planning Commissions for Allentown, Luzerne County and the PA Dept. of Community Affairs.  He was also a planning consultant for Bellante & Clauss Architectural Firm.  Prior to his retirement he worked for Robert Parry Trucking.

Bob was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed playing golf with his friends at Summit Hills Golf Course.  He enjoyed traveling with his family and friends.  He and Lonnie visited many European countries and loved the 2 months a year they spent at Hilton Head Island, SC.

Also surviving are two daughters, Susan Brownley and her husband William, Chesapeake, VA and Cyndi Basil and her husband Mark of Northford, CT; five grandchildren, Alex Brownley and his wife Brett Marie, Lacey Brownley, Amanda, Brandan, and Haley Basil; and one great grandchild, Liam Brownley.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & Cremation Svc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. William Carter, pastor, First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit.  Interment will follow with full military honors at Clarks Green Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Gardens of Green Ridge for their compassion and excellent care of Bob.
