I WORKED WITH BOB AT SIERRA FLOWERS AND I SO ADMIRED HIS SENSE OF LOYALTY. WE ALWAYS FELT SAFE WHEN BOB WAS AROUND. BOB LOVED HIS FAMILY AND I KNOW HE WILL CONTINUE TO WATCH OVER YOU.

Danny - Ann and I are so sorry for your loss. Know that he is resting with God and left a lasting contribution to the world in you and your family.

Praying that the Good Lord will comfort you and your family. Our prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Sad to hear of the loss of a good friend from our Sierra Flowers days together. I know you will miss the closeness you all shared with him. My heartfelt sympathy to all of you.

Robert's Obituary

Robert Maynos Marr, Sr. 87, died June 11, 2012 while residing in Noblesville, IN. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce, his parents, Rizal and Lucetta Marr, and his two sisters, Patricia Tuck and Laurie Marvin. A long-time Indianapolis resident, Robert Bob was born September 7th, 1924 in Okemah, Ok. He graduated from high school in Seminole, Ok. on June, 1941, and entered McPherson College in McPherson, KS. in September, 1941. On December 10, 1941, Bob left college to join the U.S. Navy as an Apprentice Seaman until July 1, 1943, when he was discharged to accept appointment as a Naval Aviation Cadet. During a training session to become a dive bomber pilot, Bob severely injured both of his eardrums and as a result was medically discharged from the Navy in April, 1944.In January, 1945, Bob entered the University of OK. During this time, he helped organize the Thomas C. Reynolds Post 303 of the American Legion on the campus, which was the first World War II college campus Post. After college, Bob was hired by The American Legion as a Field Representative, and later worked as the Assistant National Correspondent for the Forty and Eight. In December, 1957, Bob accepted a position as Regional Supervisor of the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, where he worked as a lobbyist until his retirement in 1986. Bobs hobbies included volunteering as a counselor at Boys Nation for many years, traveling, church activities and spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends.Bob is survived by his three sons, Robert (Bonna) Marr, Jr., of Sheridan, IN, Jeffrey (Susan) Marr, and Danny (Debbie) Marr of Indianapolis; daughter, Lesley (James) DuBach of Indianapolis; ten grandchildren, Benjamin (Becky) Marr, Esther (Steven) Zunker, Henry (Bekah) Marr, Charles Marr, Christina (Kyle) Hughes, Stephanie Marr, Tyler Marr, Grace DuBach, Laura DuBach, and Noelle DuBach; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marjorie Pike; brother-in-law, William (Julia) Hollenbeck; and ten nieces and nephews, all of whom loved their Uncle Bob. An always generous and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends.Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in East 91st Street Christian Church, of which he was a member, 6049 E. 91st Street, Indianapolis followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road.
