Robert Clifton “Bobby” Miller passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 19, 1946, in Jessamine County, Kentucky, Bobby was a proud member of the first integrated graduating class of Jessamine County High School in 1964—a milestone that reflected both courage and progress during a defining time in history.
He went on to attend Kentucky State University from 1964 to 1968, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. His time at KSU shaped not only his education but also his deep and lifelong pride in his alma mater—a love he carried with him throughout his life.
Bobby continued his academic journey at the University of Kentucky, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Psychology in 1972. His passion for understanding people and helping others guided much of his professional and personal life.
In 1969, Bobby was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served his country honorably until his discharge in 1971, demonstrating dedication, discipline, and resilience—qualities that became the foundation of his character.
After his military service, Bobby began a rewarding 25-year career with the State of Ohio Department of Transportation, where he worked in personnel and built lasting friendships with his colleagues. Upon retirement, his passion for mentorship and education continued as he served as a substitute teacher in the Columbus Public School System, where his humor, warmth, and encouragement left a lasting impression on students and staff alike.
Bobby was truly the life of the party—a man who loved deeply, laughed often, and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sharing good food, great music, and endless conversation. A devoted lover of jazz and an avid sports fan, Bobby was a loyal supporter of his Kentucky Wildcats, Cincinnati Reds, and Cincinnati Bengals. He never missed a homecoming at Kentucky State University or a Men’s SEC Basketball Tournament with his sons. His infectious laughter, sharp wit, and magnetic personality made every gathering brighter.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Warren Clifton Miller and Roberta M. Miller.
Bobby leaves to cherish his memory his beloved sons, David Warren Miller and Mark Mansfield Miller (Kelly); grandchildren Brooke Trowel, Leah Townsend, Zoey Miller, Maya Miller, Journey Miller, and David Miller, Jr.; great-granddaughters Iris Geronimo and Euri Rice; along with a host of cousins, extended family, and close friends who will forever remember his love and laughter.
The family extends special thanks to his lifelong friends JoMae Bradshaw, Toni Robinson, and Cassandra Gore, whose unwavering love and support were a blessing to Bobby throughout his life and especially in his final days.
Bobby’s legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
