So sorry to hear May God grant you comfort and peace.

I knew Bob from an auction in Perryopolis Pa, it was every Tuesday evening. He was a Sweet, Kind and a Very Funny Guy. .... Once Covid happened he stopped coming to the auctions, it made me sad not to see him again. ....and of course it made me sad hearing of his passing. My Deepest Condolences goes out to his family.

Robert's Obituary

Robert W. “Bob” Myden, 88, of Vanderbilt, passed away peacefully at home on December 11, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born October 12, 1937, in Bitner, he was the son of the late William Myden Jr. and Edna Silman Myden Show.

 

A 1957 graduate of Uniontown High School, Bob was a standout baseball and football player. He used these talents during his brief time at the University of Arizona on a full athletic scholarship before returning home to work as a coal miner at Bobtown and Banning Mines, then later retired from Shanefelters.

 

Bob was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt. He spent many weekends at dirt track races with his son, Bobby, and his “adopted sons,” Keith Sumey and Kevin Logan. Bob enjoyed coin and card collecting, fishing at Virgin Run, and creating stained-glass pieces that were displayed locally and overseas.

 

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Patterson Myden; his son, Robert “Bobby/Myrtle” Myden and wife Deidre; Grandchildren Stacey Myden Whipkey, Kristopher Myden, and Kaitlyn Myden Ritenour and husband Lee; Great-granddaughters; Bailee (Matthew) Enos, Kenadee and Maycee Whipkey, Jordan and Zoey Myden, and Abbie, McKenna, and Harper Ritenour Great-great-grandson; Adam Charles Enos. His sisters; Doris Nedley and Nancy McShane. 2 very special nieces Wendy and Kim as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Myden, and his brother, Charles Myden, and wife, Marlene.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Ralph Galley Funeral Home, Dawson. In accordance with Bob’s wishes, there will be no viewing or service. Interment will be held at Green Ridge Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation in honor of his granddaughter, Kaitlyn M. Ritenour.
