I never got to meet you in person, but felt that I knew you through your awesome grand-daughter, Danielle. May you rest in peace and know that all of those you love will meet with you again one day.

I am so sorry to hear about Bob's passing. He was like a family member to my family as he and my brother James were good friends for years. He was at our house a lot when they were growing up. He was like one of the family to us. He will be missed. My prayers go out to his family.

Robert W. Nielson Sr.
Bob or P-pop, as many knew him, went on a week-long fishing vacation in La Paz, Mexico. After his return Tuesday night, he passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 70. He was born in Petaluma and remained there his whole life. Bob was survived by his daughter, Paula (Tim) Butterworth, his grandchildren Danielle Butterworth and Robbie Nielson-Taylor, and predeceased by his son Robert Nielson Jr. He will be missed greatly by family and many close friends.
Bob’s passion was fishing, whether it was local or on trips in Mexico and Costa Rica. He also enjoyed bowling on a league with friends. He recently got involved in racing again after many years; he was a pit crew member. Bob worked in welding and fabrication before retiring. He was a family-oriented person, who enjoyed holidays with his family. Bob was well known for living his life his own way and enjoying every moment.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, April 16th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory.
