POWERS, Robert “Ted”, 85, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at his home. Ted was born in Dayton, OH on march 5, 1930 to Mason & Mary (Baty) Powers. He was retired from General Motors after over 22 years of service. Ted served our country in the U.S. Air Force. He was an avid horseshoe player and enjoyed family ping pong, music and riding bikes and motorcycles. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty S. Powers (1996); brothers, Arden & Jack Powers. Survived by daughter & son-in-law, Kathryn S. & Edward Szymanski; sons & daughter-in-law, Michael Powers, Mitchell J. & Jennifer Powers; grandchildren, Marcy (Phillip Bridges), Micah, Miles, Austin, Jessica, Jason (Kandis); great grandchildren, Tanner J. & Melody J. Powers; special companion for the last 5 years, Bobbie Courtright; several nieces, nephews & many friends. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, “Northridge Chapel,” 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road. Interment Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the George C.
