Robert's Obituary

Robert Grant Rowe Jr. of Gloucester, entered the Kingdom of God on Feb. 10, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. He was born May 14, 1939 to the late Bertha Braxton and Robert Grant Rowe. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Gillenwater and brother-in-law, John Michael Shackelford. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Shackelford Rowe; son, Timothy Rowe (Danette); daughter, Charlene Isner (Richard); son, Robert Grant Rowe III; son-in-law, Tom Gillenwater; grandchildren, Pamela Rowe, Stacey Gary, Julie Gary, Erin Gillenwater, Tommy Gillen-water (Bella); great-grandchildren, Landon Sikora, Liana Pastron, Grayson Sikora; great-great-grandchildren, Ezra Evola and Selah Evola; devoted and caring sisters-in-law, Irene Hogge (Kenneth), Rosemary Coleman and Cheryl Slavnik (Danny).

At 40, he started running and was in several marathons which he completed. In his retirement he enjoyed catching up with friends and family, watching football, golf and other sports.

There will be a military service at a later date.

To honor the memory of Robert, contributions may be given to Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society or a charity of your choice.

Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, is in charge of arrangements.
