I just heard about your loss. Our thoughts are with you.

So sorry for your loss. I remember Bobby (as we called him as AHS students) always would make everyone smile in any given situation. He had a one of a kind personality and his good natured spirit was inspirational to all of us.

I am so sorry for your loss. Bobby was a great guy and will forever be in our heart.

Bobby will be missed by many! He was such a sports fan and took great pride in our Ada kids! There was not a time that I spoke with him that he didn’t praise God! May he Rest In Peace. Ann and Mike Hood❤

Robert's Obituary

            Robert L. Shields, Jr.  age 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 12:46 AM at Mercy-Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

            He was born on July 7, 1943 in Ada, Ohio to the late Robert and M. Irene (Cheney) Shields, Sr.  On November 27, 1965 Robert married Myra E. Bowman and she survives in Ada.

            Also surviving is a son, Robert (Hoan) Shields of Dublin; two daughters: Elaine Adams of Dublin and Teresa (Steve) Stansloski of Ada; nine grandchildren: Travis (Sarah) Adams, Jake (Samantha) Adams, Nick (Katelyn Tanguay) Adams, Cody Adams, Samantha Collins, Cierra (James Johnson) Collins, Anthony Collins, Talisha Marcum and Ashley Marcum; six great grandchildren: Olivia, Autumn, Lukas, Kenneth, Oakley and Jackson; and two sisters: Janice Shields of Lima and Barbara Shields of Ada. 

            He was preceded in death by a sister, Patty Shields; and a son-in-law, Tony Adams.

            Robert previously worked at Clark Equipment, Allen East Schools and Ada High School.  Robert retired as the Pastor of Middle River Christian Church, Delphos. He was an Ada volunteer fireman. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes Fan. Please wear your favorite Ohio State Gear in memory of Robert for the service.   

            Memorial Services will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 30, 2021at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Pastor Tim Garmon officiating.  The memorial service for Robert will be live streamed on the Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services Facebook Page beginning at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 30th.  

            Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 30th at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.   

            Memorial contributions may be made to the Ada Athletic Boosters c/o Ada High School, 725 W. North Avenue, Ada, Ohio 45810
